I am always curious about growing plants, discovering what grows in Saskatchewan, the benefits of (and challenges to) all kinds of plants. I have been growing food and houseplants for most of my life. I have rebuilt raised beds in my yard, and grow native perennials. I enjoy experimenting with different methods of growing plants - winter sowing, seed snails, substrates for propagation, etc. I am a founding member of a developing permaculture project in southern Saskatchewan. In addition, I do strength and resistance training with a personal trainer to ensure my body functions effectively. Furthermore, I have a background in language and am currently reviewing Spanish and am starting to learn a couple of other languages as well. I am currently seeking work that is in line with my passions, with the understanding that my work at the permaculture project may require my absence a few days over the spring, summer and fall.
My primary work experience has been with international students. In my role, I supported the learning of international students and their instructors, teaching and training them in technology and services provided by the U of S. My role was a very collaborative and dynamic one, requiring patience and communication strategies to fully understand problems in order to provide timely and effective solutions.
I have experience leading volunteer planting workshops at the University of Saskatchewan and for private functions, purchasing supplies within budget limits. Locations included:
U of S Language Centre (20 participants), U of S International Student and Study Abroad Centre (35 participants), private function.
