Life After Fifty, Windsor, Ontario
- Facilitated regular social telephone programming with older adults aged 50+
- Engaged in friendly telephone conversations with three clients each week and documented comprehensive case notes based on these conversations
- Researched community resources available to older adults in Windsor-Essex County and added to the agency’s resource binder
- Researched best practices with older adults who are newcomers to Canada, LGBTQ+
- Conducted intake assessments over the phone for the agency’s home maintenance and telephone assurance programs
WORK EXPERIENCE:

- Became proficient in ability to prioritize
- Created an effective system to complete tasks by having paper bags and napkins in the general vicinity to quickly and easily grab donuts for customers
- Learned how to plan effectively by anticipating when the store would be busiest and preparing coffee accordingly
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE:

- Developed better communication skills from interacting with peers while setting up arts and crafts for children

- Successfully completed a timeline of the branch’s history by searching the Windsor Public Library’s newspaper archives
