Desiree Brown

I am an 19-year-old graduate of École J. H. Picard, a French immersion Fine Arts academic institution. My education there has provided me with a solid foundation in leadership and community engagement, and I am fluent in French, having been immersed in the language since kindergarten.

I was a student at the Centre collégial de l'Alberta which is a French language college apart of the University of Alberta. I began my studies at Campus Saint-Jean in September 2024. During high school, I demonstrated commitment and leadership as an active member of the student council, collaborating with peers to enhance our school community.

My volunteer work included supporting younger students through reading and other educational activities. I also actively participated in arts-related events, including school plays and performances. I've always had an interest in the arts as I danced competitively from age 3 to 13.

I am now seeking employment in the service industry, where I am eager to apply my various skills and contribute to a dynamic team.

Volunteer Teacher at Mosaic House Church (03/2022 – Present)

• Current volunteer teacher at Mosaic House Church for the kids during church hours on several occasions, 300+ hours of service
• Served food to others during multiple school events
• Handled dishwashing / food handling and serving at church

Intern at a daycare at Primrose Place Family Centre (10/2024 – 12/2024)

• Interned as a daycare teacher at Primrose Place Family Centre and worked with different age groups of kids aged 1 ½ - 4
• Realised conflict resolution, daily interventions, clean ups and various hygiene routines

Early Childhood Educator at Primrose Place Family Centre (05/2025 – 08/2025)

• Supported the care and development of children aged 18 months to 4 years in a licensed daycare setting
• Managed daily routines, including hygiene practices, clean-ups, and safe play environments

• Played educational games, created multiple crafts, worked on exciting mind stimulating puzzles and read books to young children
• Cared for children aged 12 months to 11 years and completed associated tasks such as meal preparations and tidying up the play area

• Closely monitored children's play activities to verify safety
• Offered age-appropriate, fun and educational activities in French and English for children ranging from preschool to sixth grade
