Hi I’m Elise Campbell, I’m from a small First Nation community located 64KM from The Pas Manitoba called Moose Lake(Mosakahiken Cree Nation). I speak quite a bit of Cree I can also translate Cree to English extremely well and I’m fluent in English. I moved to Winnipeg 08/2022 in hopes of going to university but I didn’t receive sponsorship from my Band/reserve.
I still dream of going to university and furthering my education in hopes to inspire youth in my community and to show that there’s more in this world then the reserve. I worked in many fields throughout the years from working with RCMP detachment as a guard, to being a Social Worker for Cree Nation Child and family Caring Agency and to help running the Mayors office as the Community Administration Officer from the bookkeeping to doing payroll and all the office work (including managing, timesheets, answering phone, scheduling meetings for the mayor and counsellors , filing ,and etc…)
