Gianluca Iarlori

I studied Hotel Management first and Cinematography then, at university in Italy and just after that I started working as event’s organizer, photographer, videographer and social media manager for many international (Music, arts and movie) festivals.

I spent then two winter seasons working on the Italian Alps (Bardonecchia), managing a photo agency, as photographer on ski slopes and in the retail/customer service. Working in art industry was amazing but I felt I was missing something in my life: travelling!

So, five years ago, I went for my first solo trip in Australia and I quickly understood that life on the road was everything I needed.

After one year in Australia I started a big documentary project: I travelled 9 months from Portugal to India by land, stopping in every country in between and filming subcultures and alternative lifestyles. When I was in Latvia, I met a tour leader that introduced me to tour manager job. We talked the whole night about how amazing is to travel the world with groups of travelers. I wanted to try and I applied for the same company she was working for: Intrepid Travel. They quickly replied me, we had an interview first, the training then and after few months I became a tour leader in Italy and west Europe.

After that unfortunately Covid stopped the tourism all around the world and I couldn’t work with them anymore.

As soon as the borders opened, I went on the road again, I spent the last winter in Mexico and here I am now, with a working-holiday visa in Canada.

I love being surrounded by international people and create a friendly environment wherever I go. I’m a very proactive and multitasking person and I love to bring all my knowledge and professionality wherever I can, trying to learn from everyone and grow more and more in every experience I do.

I work since 9 years in the art/cultural/event industry as photographer, videographer and event organizer.
