I am an enthusiastic Science Communicator, Gemmologist (FCGmA) and Geologist with several years' experience in science outreach and mineral collecting in Ontario.
I enjoy working with teams to maximize efficiency and to bring out the strengths of others both inside and outside the workplace. I always enjoy learning about new technology and how it may be applied to my interests in science communication.
My two main missions in my work are to increase understanding and interest in earth sciences, and to increase accommodations to improve access for those with barriers.
I have been working in science outreach and science education for a few years, focusing on geoscience. I have worked with museums on making programming events and science communications such as blogs and exhibits. I have worked with people of all different ages and backgrounds.
I have an undergraduate degree in Geological Sciences from Queens University, where my area of research was on atmospheric modelling for UV predictions.
I have a gemmology diploma and professional designation, Fellow of the Canadian Gemmological Association.
I have a Masters of Science Communications from Laurentian University, where my area of research involved visual accessibility in geoscience museums.
