RELEVANT EXPERIENCE__
Mechanical Design Engineer April-2019 – Present Emcon Emanation Control Ltd. – Secret Security Clearance
- Designed and assembled tempest systems with sheet metal, plastics, polymers, and machined metals using SolidWorks
- Worked with 3D printing to create prototypes, finalize designs, and create assemblies at lower costs, to win contracts
- Used SolidWorks flow simulations to calculate the airflow and heat transfer of OEM and existing parts, for sufficiently cooled designs
- Used PDM/BoM systems to update and manage all existing and new, metalwork, wiring/part assemblies, and hardware
- Annotated assemblies, wire/cable diagrams, and part drawings using GD&T specifications to allow for quick and easy manufacturing by machine shops and vendors. As well as communicating with said shops
- Redesigned and updated old products to reduce assembly time and save production cost by 5-50% • Reverse engineered many detailed OEM products in CAD using measurement devices (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
- Assembled the first build for designs, built BoMs, and communicated with assemblers for faster and easier production time
Mechanical Designer Aug. 2017 - April 2018 National Research Council of Canada – Design and Fabrication Services
- Designed mechanical systems, created complex assemblies, built BoMs, and finalized drawings per ASME standard
- Created and updated part libraries on SolidWorks PDM, which allowed for quicker design time and easier organization
- Communicated with Project Manager and internal NRC clients, to assure deadlines were met and design requirements were reached per customers specification
- Filled in and helped senior designers work on more urgent parts and drawings when needed for more team flexibility
- Reversed engineered photonics measuring instrument for 50% cheaper manufacturing
- Communicated with CNC machinist and welders during manufacturing of parts for concise and fast production
Mechanical Engineering Student/Junior Employee Aug. 2016 – April 2017 Algonquin College/ Houna Almansour Global Medical Devices & Design Inc. • Designed and created infrared laser therapy needle using SolidWorks and Inventor to revolutionize infrared therapy, all while having to learn about and adapt to a new subject of photonics and lasers • Communicated design ideas effectively with industry partner and team members to reach the clients set goal • Researched, developed, and prototyped designs using electronics and materials knowledge, creating the best possible product under a set budget and requirement
