PRATT & WHITNEY CANADA
Compressor Mechanical Designer Jul 2018-Oct 2022
- Designed & drafted technical drawings for compressor rotors, stators, and bearing housings that have accumulated hundreds of successful running hours on turboshaft and turboprop gas turbine engines.
- Provided technical support to suppliers during procurement & manufacturing of the above-mentioned parts.
- Produced engineering layouts & bills of materials to communicate assembly & installation instructions to the engine assembly line.
- Led multidisciplinary teams including machinists, materials engineers, structural analysts, and dynamics specialists to complete the designs of compressor parts.
- Conducted Failure Modes and Effects Analysis of above-mentioned parts to ensure the risks & consequences of part failure modes do not affect engine safety
- Re-designed two cast bearing housings to instead be manufactured from bar stock, thus reducing part cost by 30% and part weight by 20%.
