Triage AML Analyst, Scotibank 2021-Present

• Performing Intake Function for Corporate Security referrals by ensuringrelevant information is obtained for alerts from all sources in the Transaction Monitoring Case Management System and assess the risk posed by the alert to determine appropriate escalating measures.
• Investigating and assessing customer alerted activity generated from the automated transaction monitoring system, unusual transaction reports and external referrals to identify potential money-laundering or terrorist financing.
• Working collaboratively with other business lines to implement appropriate due diligence and customer remediation steps to minimize regulatory and reputational risk.
• Adjudicating lower complexity alerts to close or escalate for further review by the FIU or SIU. Request information as necessary from business units; maintain records and related documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and department standards in the case management system.
• Ensuring all obligations under the PCMLTFA are being upheld, including the identification and timely reporting of designated individuals as well as politically exposed persons.
• Conducting world-check and adverse media searches, reviewing KYC profiles, client’s banking history and banking information of each alerted customer and reporting reasonable grounds to suspect within the appropriate regulatory reporting requirements and timelines.
• Assisting in other ad-hoc KYC and AML related work such as assisting in KYC review and submitting rapid STRs.
• Recommending risk mitigation actions such as CDD, GSO referral, relationship termination and next steps at the conclusion of investigations.
• Effectively implementing the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture, in day-to-day activities and decision.

• Post Graduation Diploma in Financial Planning and Wealth Management
