I'm a native of the state of Georgia, and I immigrated to Canada in 2019. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from a US University, and I will graduate with honours from Sundance College here in Alberta with a diploma in Addictions and Community Health in June, 2023. I have 4,000 hours of work history in the Addictions field at Atlanta Mission: The Potter's House in Jefferson, Georgia.
The Potter's House is a Men's 180 bed long term residential treatment facility located on 550 acres of farm and Woodland in Northeast Georgia. I was involved in many facets of work there including Peer Counseling in groups and one on one, as well as numerous other areas including, but not limited to: intake, peer advocacy, and house manager of a 60 bed transition housting facility (New Start) located on campus. My passion is recovery because I live it.
I am currently 8 years into recovery after having suffered from polysubstance addiction for almost 25 years. I intend to reach out to help others with care and compassion to guide and support them to towards sobriety, health, and wellness for the rest of my days. I am currently looking for an opportunity to work in the greater Calgary and surrounding areas in the Addictions field.
