Jovelyn Cagas

With years of experience in entrepreneurship and human resource management. Adept in teaching, mentoring and project management. A problem-solver and team leader. With excellent oral and written communication skills. Eager to apply knowledge and skills in achieving the targets of the organization.

I worked as an Administrative Coordinator as my starting job after graduation from November 2009- March 2010. Then, I started to work as a Project Development Officer in a government office from March 2010 to May 2011. After a year, I applied for teaching and got a temporary full-time teaching position in a public school from October 2011 to March 2012.

Later, I was hired permanently as a public school teacher in September 2012 and worked for almost 12 years while managing a small business I owned which prompted me to take an international course in Canada. When I arrived in Canada, I worked full-time as a concierge from May 2023 to May 2024 while being a full-time international student. I started working as a service department coordinator in December 2023 and have worked there until now.

While doing the concierge job, I was one of the Resource Staff during the Elections Ontario in November 2023.

My academic qualifications include being a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English, equivalent to a three-year Canadian bachelor’s degree; having completed the academic requirements for Master of Arts in Education Major in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), equivalent to a two- year graduate study in Canada (based on acquired WES evaluation 2024); and having finished the one-year program in Global Business Management at Conestoga College with Distinction award.
