My name is Julia! I am a current NBCC Medical Administration student, grad of 2023. I have multiple years of service industry experience, as well as administrative job experience as well. I would describe myself as an outgoing, and determined individual in any workplace. I am currently open to both administration and service roll jobs.
As a newcomer to New Brunswick, I applied to Kingswood Golf Course as a beverage cart girl for a summer job. I have worked in my hometown of Summerside, PE as a cafe attendant for five years where I was very involved with the public and a fast past environment. After getting the golf course job, I used the skills from my previous job at my new one. I served members efficiently, handled my own finances and more. After a while, I found myself doing more for the course such as coming in early to help with stock and such. More recently, this past summer, I worked as an administrative assistant for Meals on Wheels. This is a non organization that provides meals to those who may not be capable to do that for themselves. I handled office tasks, phone calls, payments for meals and any other inquires the members may have. Towards the end of the summer I was able to conduct a survey that went out to all members, that I then complied the feedback into an excel document. I had a really amazing bond with both my co-workers and customers which made me loved going to work everyday.
I know that one of my passions is working with and interacting with the public. This is why I chose to do the Administrative Professional : Health services program at NBCC. I have learned many practical skills over the past two years. Some courses I have taken include: A course on all Microsoft softwares, Document formatting, Keyboarding, Medical Billing, Medical Terminology, Accounting, Document filing and far more. I am now at the end of my education, heading into a two-month practicum which I will finish in February and eventually graduate with honours in June.
