Experience

Veterinary Assistant at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic (2025-01 – 2025-08)

In my role at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic, I was responsible for supporting both front-end administrative operations and hands-on clinical procedures within a fast-paced small animal practice, including:

  • Managed reception and clerical responsibilities including multi-line phone systems, email correspondence, appointment scheduling, invoicing and payment processing, maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Provided safe patient handling and restraint, performed venipuncture and IV catheter placement, conducted in-house laboratory diagnostics (blood work, urinalysis, cytology), and produced diagnostic radiographs.
  • Administered medications via subcutaneous, intravenous, and intramuscular routes, including anesthetic induction agents under veterinary supervision.
  • Assisted with surgical procedures by preparing patients and surgical sites, performing endotracheal intubation, monitoring anesthesia and vital parameters, and providing post-operative recovery care.

Veterinary Assistant at Family Pet Hospital (2021-07 – 2025-01)

In a fast-paced small animal practice, I gained hands-on experience supporting patient care and assisting with a wide range of clinical procedures, including:

  • Reception services including answering and placing client calls, scheduling appointments, creating client invoices and processing payments, ordering inventory, and maintaining a sanitary reception and treatment area.
  • Accurately recorded detailed patient histories and maintained up-to-date medical and client records.
  • Safely handled and restrained patients for treatments, prepared patients for surgical procedures, monitored anesthesia, and assisted in post-operative recovery.
