I am a graduate from Durham College completing the millwright program. I have been given the opportunity for growth at my current place of employment, as much as I have learned and continue to gain transferable skills; I am ready to pursue a new career within my field. A career in the skilled trades has always been of interest, as new challenges and opportunities arise throughout day-to-day tasks.
I consider myself a hardworking individual, who goes above and beyond what is expected. As much as I am a team leader, I’m also an excellent team player.
Currently I am employed with Canadian Tire, I have been there almost three years now. I have gained experience and skills that will be of use in the skilled trades, such as Ariel lift, forklift and reach truck certification. Expanded on my interpersonal skills, through training sessions and peer shadowing. Although I do not have trade experience through my employment, I am a fast learner and enjoy a good challenge.
My most recent education was through Durham College, I graduated from mechanical technician - Millwright. It was a two year program, providing all theory necessary for an entry level position, including practical knowledge for all the many aspects a millwright will encounter.
