Mohammad Adam

Hello, my name is Adam. I am currently in the final year of my undergraduate degree at York University. I study psychology, with concentrations in neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience. I have completed all the necessary degree requirements and currently working on extra courses to attain a certificate in research methods and data analysis at York before I graduate.

Additionally, I am currently doing a certificate program at University of Waterloo in data analysis and behavioural insights to gain more practical experience in coding and statistical software.

I am interested in examining vulnerable populations where there may be gaps in the literature that have the potential to advance healthcare. I have experience as an essential caregiver at the Kennedy Rivera Long-term Care home, providing support to the post-stroke population. In addition, I currently work as a Rehabilitation Therapist who implements multi-disciplinary treatments from registered healthcare professionals to the brain-injury population.

In my undergraduate experience, I have been able to refine my knowledge in psychology, conduct my own research through projects, and create academic presentations and research reports. I also have experience in grant writing in preparation for graduate school.

Due to personal experiences, my population of interest is generally the post-stroke, schizophrenia, and bipolar population; however, I would be eager to work with and learn more about other psychologically impaired populations. I have experience as a volunteer research assistant for Action CIND to inform the public of the current literature in fibromyalgia, more specifically, the neuropsychological effects of fibromyalgia and brain pathologies.

I am passionate about clinical work and every aspect of research from data collection and analysis to critically drawing conclusions. I am confident that I can be a positive addition to your team and would be delighted to have the opportunity to work with you.

• Follow multiple ABI client’s progress, current treatments/medication, cognitive impairments.
• Build rapport and transport clients to meetings and activities to develop a professional relationship for effective treatment implementation.
• Administer psychological tests and medication, assist clients with ADLs, executive functioning, and decision making/planning.
