I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemical engineering, focusing on wastewater treatment. During my master’s degree, I conducted a project titled "Competitive Adsorption of Heavy Metals from Refinery Waste Waters Using Activated Carbon." This project included both batch and continuous systems, experimental, and modeling parts and resulted in the publication of more than 10 papers in this field.
Furthermore, my Ph.D. research at Laval University focused on "Gasification Reactions of Carbon Anodes; multi-scale reaction model," which was a significant problem in aluminum industries. The ALCOA company defined this project and supported it technically and financially. I also have experience in CO2 capture using the electrocatalyst method in a continuous process in collaboration with McGill University.
Additionally, I have six years of industrial experience as a Process Engineer at Tima Kala and South Raadab Engineering CO in Tehran, Iran. During this time, I identified, analyzed, and implemented process improvements in various chemical processes, including waste management, anaerobic digestion, biomass material, gasification, catalyst production, wastewater treatment, and CO2 capture. My experience includes process design, reactor design, mass and heat balance study, extraction and adsorption design, HAZOPs and risk assessments, consulting, review and design of P&ID, and operation of MED, VC, MSF, RO sinks in EP, installation of MBBR wastewater systems, design of desalination plants, and production of seawater in the southwest of Iran.
As a Chemical Researcher at Cheyne Industry CO. in BC, I have gained valuable experience in project management. In my current role, I have been responsible for overseeing and managing the design and implementation of a pilot test for newly engineered adsorbents for contaminant removal. This involved coordinating with different departments, ensuring that the project was completed on time and within budget, and communicating the project’s progress to upper management.
