I am a Pakistani, with a Canadian Permanenty Residency (PR). The focus of my 27-year career has been in insights, market research, and client partnering. All of this has been with blue-chip global companies such as Nielsen, Unilever, and Procter & Gamble. Currently, I am heading the Consumer Division at Searle (#5 pharmaceutical company in Pakistan), with a focus on sales and marketing.
My son studies at McMaster, Ontario. My wife, daughter, and I are keen to move to Canada to join him, and start our new life, there.
As often as I can, I like to play squash and practice yoga.
From my first job with Procter & Gamble, in their Market Research Department, I have aided marketing teams in optimizing marketing decision-making. I continued to generate inights on the consumer and market at an advertising agency for their clients, until I moved to Unilever, where I worked on a diverse range of product categories and brands; on the 'client-side'. Nielsen brought me to the ‘agency-side’, where I forcus on the market and retail landscape, and honed client-partnering.
I graduated to general management as Managing Director of Nielsen Pakistan. Moving away from the world of insights, I now head the Consumer Division at Searle - the fifth largest pharmaceutical company in Pakistan - with a focus on Sales & Marketing.
Master in Business Administration, from the University of Santo Tomas, in Manila, Philippines also exposed me to a new and vibrant society and cultural. It taught me cultural values and how to adapt to new people, systems, and society.
