I am a 2024 graduate of the Emergency Communications and Response Program at MacEwan University who is eager to pursue a career in Dispatch. I have a background in emergency medicine being certified as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and extensive experience in customer service and some sales settings. I am an enthusiastic and attentive individual with a strong commitment to making a positive impact in others lives.
I believe that my self-motivated and task-oriented approach, combined with my education and relevant work experience, positions me as an ideal candidate.
My work experience over the past five years has been focused on working with the public through customer service related jobs, such as my time as a barista at Starbucks, and in emergency medical services.
I worked as an Industrial Medic in numerous remote locations throughout Northern Alberta. I enjoyed the challenges that came along with working in remote settings where I had to rely on the skills I previously learned and trusting my judgement.
I have also worked as a Hot Fueler. This position also required work in remote locations throughout Northern Alberta and the NWT, fueling helicopters in support of forest fires. This position was high stress and required an elevated degree of self-discipline and focus on the job at hand. I am thankful to have had this opportunity to support such a critical program.
