I am a molecular biologist with a strong background in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, animal behaviour, data analysis, and laboratory management. I have the capacity to multitask in a busy environment, I’m self-motivated and able to work well under timelines independently and as a team. I have a strong ability and desire to rapidly learn new techniques and adapt to novel environments. I’m looking to apply my skills and expertise in a professional industry setting.
During my MSc, I designed a novel workflow combining next generation sequencing, qRT-PCR, and bioinformatics to explore molecular mechanisms underlying resistance in insect pests. In my most recent role as a Research Technician at The Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour in Germany, I conducted projects aimed at understanding behaviour in Caenorhabditis elegans. I also provided technical support and training to team members in these roles.
Master of Science in Biology from The University of British Columbia.
