Olivia Young

Hello, my names Olivia. I graduated from Cambrian College in 2020 with my Social Service Worker diploma and have been working in the field since 2019. Experienced work in youth residential settings, direct client care and community navigation.

I enjoy outdoors, reading and spending time with those close to me. Mental health advocacy is very important to me, both personally and in the care and services I provide to clients.

Compass/Boussole/Akii-Izhinoogan: April 2023- Present (Youth Wellness Hub Peer Support Worker – Full Time)

• Create and maintain a developmentally and culturally appropriate, non-judgmental, non-stigmatizing, safe and welcoming atmosphere
• Support outreach and navigation of mental health and addiction systems, linking youth to external service providers
• Work from a harm reduction, youth-centred and trauma-informedapproach
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of partner services and access pathways
• Client and service advocacy
• Provide individual/group support services targeting life/social skill development, drawing on lived experience
• Coordination of community partner involvement and service delivery in activities/skill development programs at the Hub
