Orla’s interest in marketing was first piqued in 2017 while completing a university work placement at Belfast’s leading theatre, 'The MAC'. At the time Orla was finishing her undergraduate degree in Drama and English and loved how the story-telling performative element in drama and communication skills necessary for English blended seamlessly into a successful career in marketing. Her career choice was cemented upon completion of a second internship with prestigous advertising agency 'Mother' in London.
Upon successful completion of her undergraduate degree followed by a gap year travelling in New Zealand Orla decided to undertake an academic qualification in marketing, beginning her masters at Queen’s University Belfast in September 2019. Notable modules completed during her year of studies include digital marketing, consumer behaviour and marketing analytics. Orla's masters culminated in a three month internship with a top Northern Irish fashion organization, 'My Sister's Closet' in which she successfully created and delivered an affiliate marketing programme during the global covid pandemic.
After graduating in December 2020 Orla began her career as a freelance marketeer and has spent the last three years developing and executing effective marketing strategies for businesses in a number of sectors to increase brand awareness and drive revenue.
Orla is equipped with a diverse and proven technical skillset in social media content creation and management, email marketing, graphic design, community engagement, influencer management, web design and more. She is also adept at project management, client relations and problem-solving.
