Paris McDonald

I’m from Toronto, and I’m currently a student at Toronto Metropolitan University, in the publishing certificate program. I previously studied at the University of Toronto.

Most recently, I was working as a nanny, but my first job after high school was an assistant position with a film producer/still photographer. I was involved in location scouting around Toronto and I aided in many administrative tasks, including: schedule organization, errands, dog walking, responding to emails and phone queries. Additionally, I have volunteer experience at Project Sunshine Canada, a non-profit organization that provides educational, creative, and social programming to children facing medical challenges.

My time there was spent working the front desk, doing various office tasks, donor research, organizing care packages, event logistics and organization, while also having to continually find creative solutions to problems that endlessly arose in the world of non-profit.

I’m currently a student at Toronto Metropolitan University, in the publishing certificate program; I’ve taken courses on Publicity, Grammar, Publishing for Children, and the Publishing Trade. I’m currently completing a course on Sales and Marketing. I attended the University of Toronto, where I studied Sociology and Equity Studies.
