Roslyn Nip

I am a student that is interested in getting into the field of UI/UX but am also interested in graphic design marketing! Currently, I work as a part time graphic designer within my university. I also volunteer as a graphic designer for some esports clubs and organizations. I am interested in UI/UX and design as it allows me to empower others and learn and work in a variety of fields.

I currently work as a graphic designer in the marketing team at York University’s Student Centre (YUSC) and I have been involved in the current rebranding of the Break Room restaurant, Cornerstone catering service, as well as general social media engagement posts. I also volunteer as a graphic designer for Esports organisations such as Galorants and York University’s Esports club. Previously I worked with the Faculty of Graduate Studies at York University and was trained in AODA as well as acquired knowledge about corporate level design and communication processes. All these opportunities have equipped me with knowledge revolving around branding, social media promotion, as well as website design in Adobe XD and Figma. My background in upkeeping brand systems has given me a solid understanding of designing with an organisation's goal in mind within set parameters for branding and messaging. This is very applicable in the UI design phase and I hope to bring these skills to my position!

As I am currently enrolled in the BDES program at York University, I am also equipped with basic knowledge in human centred design as well as research within design processes. I am also experienced with Adobe Suite (Adobe XD, Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) and Figma.
