I started in the flat roof industry as a laborer and throughout the next decade, or more, I worked my way up to Lead Hand. I worked across Canada, from Ontario to BC. I then went on to obtain my
Red Seal endorsement.
I continued in the flat roof industry, increasing my skills and knowledge by leading commercial roofing crews as a Foreman. I spent 1 year building a commercial roofing division in Calgary,
when they were set up and running, I moved back to BC.
I decided to try something different and became an instructor at
RCAB (Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia). While there, I piloted a government program which taught inmates, who are about to be released, Level 1 roofing and then job placement once released. I still get letters from past student/inmates.
I decided I wanted to move to Vancouver Island and went back in the field as Superintendent with Erickson Roofing in Nanaimo, BC.
I moved back to Manitoba to take care of my parents. I started my career at Rimkus as a Project Coordinator / Project Manager,
working remotely for the Regina regional office. I did commercial roof observations and consulting. Taking pictures and images of possible leaks, fractures etc. Documenting and compiling reports. I worked with structural engineering teams on structural and pavement/concrete projects. Multiple drone imaging on large projects including malls. I am currently enrolled in the RRO (register
Roof Observer) certification.
O I have worked 30 years in the roofing industry, from laborer, to superintendent then moved on to roof inspections and consulting along with project management in the commercial roofing industry. Red Seal certified, I also taught the Red Seal Roofing program for several years. Drone pilot certified, with level 1 Thermography certification.
Grade 12, then Trade school certification.
