As a seasoned cinematographer with a Postgraduate Diploma in Cinematography from the prestigious Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, a member of CILECT film schools, I bring a wealth of experience in film production and a deep understanding of visual effects. I am a permanent resident of Canada, having moved here just over a month ago, and I am thrilled at the prospect of contributing to the Canadian VFX industry.
Throughout my career, I have been part of several projects that required significant VFX work in post-production. This has given me the opportunity to work closely with various professionals in the VFX pipeline, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the process from pre-production to post-production.
My career has been marked by a commitment to technological innovation. I am proud to be one of the first Indian cinematographers to delve into virtual reality, and among the first Asian filmmakers to have their work premiere on Samsung VR. This pioneering spirit extends to my proficiency in a range of post-production software including Da Vinci Resolve, Unreal Engine, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Mocha Pro, and Mistika VR, and my early adoption of AI applications such as Stable Diffusion, Mid-journey, RunwayML, and NeRF capture as a beta tester.
In addition to my practical experience, I have pursued theoretical knowledge and professional development throughout my career. I hold an ARRI Academy certification for camera systems, demonstrating my understanding of the technical aspects of cinematography that are crucial to the VFX process.
My leadership skills have been honed through managing diverse teams and projects. My experience ranges from directing and shooting a variety of projects including short fiction, non-fiction, commercials and music videos, to creating immersive virtual reality content for clients such as Twinings London and Samsung VR. I have also demonstrated my leadership skills in my roles at Digijargon, Horseshoe Pictures Pvt. Ltd., and Neosworld, where I oversaw production activities, developed project proposals, and managed client relationships.
I am prepared for the demands of this role, including daily overtime and weekend work, and I am comfortable working on a computer for extended periods. I am also fluent in multiple languages, which I believe will be an asset in communicating with international teams and clients.
