As an Administrative Assistant working in a fast-paced environment for over 5 years, I was responsible for a range of tasks aimed at ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and efficient management of various administrative functions. I provided general administrative support such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing documents. Assisted in preparing presentations, reports, and spreadsheets for meetings or presentations.
Coordinated travel arrangements, accommodations, and itineraries for the dentists and managers over the years.
Working in a healthcare setting, patient confidentiality is of utmost importance, and I handled sensitive information with discretion and always maintained confidentiality in accordance with HIPA and PHIPA. As a front liaison between the patients and the clinical team, I was responsible to process and submit insurance claims, invoices, reimbursements, and other financial paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. I also had to organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems to ensure easy retrieval of documents like Mustimuhw and Adagio.
I had to use Microsoft Excel and SAP FICO (Financial Accounting and Controlling) to generate financial reports, extract, compile and analyze financial data to create reports for management. Also ensured that the information is accurate in financial calculations. Was also responsible to clear the accounts receivable, both from the insurance companies, as well as the patients.
Along with the administrative support, I had to research and study the treatment procedures to explain the procedures to the patients and correspond medical clearance letters to the hospitals to get the detailed medical histories for the patients.
