- As an SRE at Crest Data Systems, I mainly worked on Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud. Splunk is a software platform widely used for monitoring, searching, analyzing, and visualizing machine-generated data in real-time.
- Responsibilities as an SRE included but were not limited to deploying Splunk infrastructure on the cloud, Maintaining the servers, applying the required configurations, and other software changes, etc.
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) and GCP (Google Cloud Platform) were the cloud service providers we used for deployment in Cloud. The primary tools that were used are Jenkins for CI/CD (Continuous integration and continuous changes), Terraform for IaC (Infrastructure as Code), Puppet for configuration management, Nagios and SignalFx for monitoring the deployment, Gitlab for version control, JIRA as a project management tool, Linux for shell scripting and many more.
- Sending, Monitoring, and keeping up with Splunk cloud frameworks on AWS.
- Offered constant help for the operational infrastructure and delivery of server deployment including the release process, Image management, backup/restore.
- Worked on AWS tools such as EC2, EBS, ELB, Launch Configuration, Auto Scaling Groups, Cloud Formation for building Splunk architecture and product delivery.
- SRE are responsible for and take the lead on reliability, automation, and other issues
Worked on improving the processes with system design, automation, tooling, and software development so that systems require less human intervention. SREs utilize this combination of software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems
