As an experienced professional in the field of Education, I have worked extensively in psychosocial assessment and evaluation, grant and copy writing, public and customer service including work with clients with chronic mental health issues and those with issues of consumption and dependency, survivors of domestic abuse, survivors of sexual abuse, individuals with neurodiverse needs and individuals with mobility issues, as well as work with families and caregivers. I have extensive background in intake well as logistics, planning and networking.
Over the past 23 years, I have been fortunate enough to work in areas and for causes about which I am passionate, and which have been greatly fulfilling, specifically working directly on the empowerment and advocacy of clients, individuals and participants. When I began my work with the Indigenous community last winter (winter 2020) at Projets Autochtones du Quebec, I worked on a portfolio that afforded me access to and knowledge of the Montreal Indigenous communities, their various organizations and resources. The opportunity for Gladue training and writing has been an extraordinary experience that has afforded me a great learning opportunity.
I have worked with clients in their communities (Nunavik) as well as clients in detention (Amos, Leclerc and St. Jerome) and the experience has given me some excellent insight and context.
