Commission of Canada I designed and built a multi-tenant survey dashboard from scratch, including its own authentication layer, role-based access, audit logging, and a webhook-driven Vonage SMS service, for a platform serving roughly 100,000 students and subscribers. Before that I built MarketingBlocks, an AI marketing app now used by 40,000+ people in 47+ countries, and ran its AWS infrastructure with Terraform. Fully remote for my whole career, and comfortable owning work from first requirements through on-call support.

Full Stack Developer at The Students Commission of Canada (2024-07 – Present)

• Designed and built a survey management dashboard from scratch for a multi-tenant platform serving roughly 100,000 students and subscribers: database schema, Laravel REST API (Eloquent ORM, MySQL), and a Next.js, React, TypeScript, Redux, and Tailwind CSS frontend, after gathering requirements from staff and subscribers and writing the design docs and specs.
• Implemented authentication and access control myself: hashed, expiring bearer tokens, session cookies, CSRF protection, server-side logout, and role-based access enforced on backend and frontend, plus an event logger that kept an audit trail of every user change with admin alerts.
• Built a separate Laravel service for SMS survey distribution on the Vonage API, connected through webhooks, with duplicate-processing protection and safe retries, and wrote the SQL aggregation queries, imports, and CSV exports behind survey reporting.
• Tuned data fetching with indexing and Redis caching, migrated live production data from v6 to v7, deployed to Azure Kubernetes Service with kubectl and Helm, and took part in on-call, including restoring the database from backup after a bad deploy created duplicate responses.
• Wrote PHPUnit and Cypress tests with a regression test for every bug that got through, set up an LLM guardrail in Bitbucket Pipelines CI that flagged risky code, and mentored a newer frontend developer through code review and pairing.

Back End Developer at Fitness Factory (2022-06 – 2023-05)

• Defined Laravel REST endpoints on MySQL, working with the front-end team to turn UX requirements into backend logic.
• Documented API specs in Swagger and validated them with Postman test scenarios and automated tests.
• Built isolated, reproducible Docker development environments to keep behavior consistent across machines.
