Jon Fernández Otegi

I am a Ph.D. graduate in Astrophysics with a strong interest in data science and statistics. 4+ years of experience in data handling/analysis/modeling, and science research and publication. This includes machine learning techniques with Python as well as running state-of-the-art simulations on exoplanet modeling. Proficient in data reduction software development and data modeling algorithms.

Research topic during the PhD: Exoplanet interiors and statistical analysis of exoplanet properties.

• Development of analysis tools for data processing and visualisation.
• Development of physical models and simulations to describe planet interiors (in Python and Fortran).
• Operating state-of-the-art telescopes at the La Silla observatory in Chile.
• Published four first author articles in recognised scientific journals.
• Participation in multiple international collaborations and contributed to the publication of eleven articles as collaborator.

• Mentoring Bachelor and Master students.

Master in Astrophysics at the Aix-Marseille University, having the highest average mark of the class.
