I am Sara Muammer, a pharmacist, entrepreneur, and sustainability advocate based in Iraq. My work sits at the intersection of health, technology, and environmental innovation, where I focus on building solutions that improve both human wellbeing and the planet.
I have a background in pharmacy, biotechnology interests, and project management, and I have worked with startups, NGOs, and youth initiatives to develop impactful programs. My journey into environmental activism began when I moved from the UAE to Iraq and witnessed the scale of pollution and environmental degradation. Since then, I have been committed to promoting sustainable practices and empowering youth to become leaders in climate action.
I am a member of the National Youth Council and have participated in the Youth Climate Change Coalition in collaboration with UNICEF and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, representing Iraq in national and international forums. My mission is to ensure that young people play a meaningful role in shaping policies and solutions for the future.
Alongside advocacy, I am building ventures that combine science, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, including projects in health technology, sustainable agriculture, and clean skincare innovation. I believe the future of healthcare and environmental protection lies in integrating science, technology, and community-driven solutions.
I am a pharmacist, entrepreneur, and sustainability advocate with experience in health technology, health insurance, environmental initiatives, and startup development. I have worked in a health insurance company, gaining experience in healthcare systems, patient services, and medical coordination, which strengthened my understanding of healthcare management and access to care.
In addition, I have collaborated with NGOs, youth organizations, and innovation-driven projects, focusing on sustainability, healthcare innovation, and youth empowerment. I have experience in project management, research, and startup operations, and have led initiatives that train young people in leadership and civic engagement.
My work integrates science, technology, and entrepreneurship to develop solutions that improve public health, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.
Through my professional and volunteer experiences, I have learned the importance of leadership, collaboration, and innovation in solving complex challenges. Working in healthcare and the health insurance sector strengthened my understanding of health systems, insurance processes, patient needs, and the importance of efficient and accessible medical services.
My involvement in environmental and youth initiatives taught me that sustainable change requires empowering communities, especially young people, to participate in decision-making. I also learned that combining science, technology, and entrepreneurship can create impactful and scalable solutions that improve public health, environmental sustainability, and healthcare access.
