Maria Llopis Puchol

I am a dedicated Early Years leader with over six years of experience helping young children thrive and supporting educators to grow. I believe deeply in the importance of the early years and lead with a blend of empathy, creativity, and high expectations. I have designed and led impactful curricula, built strong, inclusive teams, and used data and reflection to continuously improve outcomes.

Fluent in Spanish, Catalan, English, and Italian, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work and value the rich diversity every child and family brings to the school community.

With over six years of progressive experience in Early Years education, I have led and shaped high-quality provision across both nursery and primary school settings.

At Colville Primary

School, I’ve held multiple leadership roles, from overseeing the EYFS phase strategy to mentoring staff and managing large teams. My work has consistently focused on delivering outstanding teaching, ensuring safeguarding excellence, and using data to drive improvement. From launching curriculum initiatives to leading GLD assessments and engaging closely with parents, I bring a hands-on, reflective approach to leadership.

My earlier experience at KIDO International Nursery further honed my ability to build strong teams, nurture inclusive learning environments, and support every child’s holistic development.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education from the University of Valencia (QTS). I furthered my expertise with a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the International University of Valencia. Committed to continuous development, I have completed certified training in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, and recently undertook CPD in “Becoming a Writer for EYFS.” In April 2025, I began the NPQ in Early Years Leadership at University College London (UCL), equipping me with advanced strategies to lead and improve early years provision at scale.
