I am a recent graduate from Loughborough University awarded a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English and Drama. I am looking for an English Language teaching/assistant role in Spain (located in Marbella / Mijas region), where I can put my excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to good use. I am looking to find a job which I can start in September this year.
Summer Camp Counsellor – Marbella – (Summer 2022)
Responsible for organising activities for all the children during the school holidays, keeping them entertained, safe and looking after their well-being. Lots of fun and demanding in equal measure. A hugely enjoyable experience which developed my Spanish speaking skills.
Our Lady of Hartley Primary School – Teaching Assistant (May 2016)
Working with small groups of children and assisting teachers in classes across the school. I produced class timetables, assisted year 3 children to understand place value, maths and literacy. I wrote homework assignments and guided students in using technology to support educational research in the ICT suite.
This online course incorporated grammar and language awareness, teaching large classes, telephone teaching and video observation. I also took part in a three-day teacher training workshop, based in London Paddington where I devised my own lesson plans and practised teaching in front of a class of twenty.
Relevant modules: Exploring Language and Linguistics, Voice and Text, Theatre and Education.
Achievements: I produced and presented an online educational workshop for a class with learning difficulties (during the pandemic). I was awarded a 1st for this piece.
