Shane Conaty

I'm Shane, 27 years old, from Ireland. I recently moved to Barcelona and am looking for English teaching opportunities. I'm a strong communicator with an easy-going nature. I have a lot of experience working with people in various different environments. Specifically as regards education, I have experience tutoring Spanish students in English as well as working as a university tutor in my previous field of Criminal Justice, where as well as leading classes, I also corrected large numbers of assignments.

As mentioned, I have worked as an English tutor to Spanish students spanning four summers at home in Ireland. This was great experience which required getting to know students, meeting them at their level of English, helping organise sports and activities as well as helping to prepare students for and correct exams. I also facilitated several groups for my own classes at Maynooth University, as a Criminology tutor. During my time in the university, I also assisted with several large projects in the office, corrected large batches of assignments and assisted lecturers with research.

I completed the120 hours premier TEFL course in September 2022. Just before that, I completed a diploma in life coaching with neuroscience, which helped me a great deal in being skilled to work and communicate strongly with people and understand their motives and behaviours.
