I am an English language specialist of 30 years and have worked both in the UK and abroad as an English language specialist in local authorities and in private language schools.
I am specialist PREVENT/CVE trainer developer SAFEGUARDING CHANNEL PRACITIONER with 12 years’ experience in Prevent, Equality and diversity in policing, Home Office, DfE and Local Authorities. I have developed and delivered a range of training PREVENT programmes for staff and community safety partners and led and supported and chaired Channel Panels.
I have managed government and EU youth crime and violence against women grants worth over £10,000. I have run funding bids for the Home Office and recruited and managed funding panels. I have supported NGOs to apply for funds to begin pilot projects.
I have worked for over 15 years in policing, local and national government focusing on people, culture, equality, inclusion, human rights, values, and policies that adversely affect women, gender, LGBT, young people and mental health, and currently in CVE, helping schools to understand the rise of hate intolerance misogyny racism and homophobia. English is my first language having been born and brought up in the UK however, I am also a fluent Spanish speaker having studied Spanish at university and lived in Spain for several years.
I have experience in designing, training and leading diversity and equality practice with teams across a variety of sectors, in local and national organisation, policing, local and national government and driving organisational diversity strategies, policies and processes thus ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner and according to deadlines.
I was a senior national Equality and Diversity Policy lead with a variety of responsibilities within the UK National Policing Improvement Agency (College of Policing). I helped ensure the implementation of the national equality policing plan by working with partners across government departments to ensure they had completed their equality targets and the race equality plan.
I have promoted and fostered a diverse and inclusive work environment, embedded activities and programmes to enhance employees’ understanding of diversity and inclusion and furthermore ensured diversity and inclusion are embedded in policies, processes, functions, protocols, key decisions, and procedures in variety of organisations including local and national policing, government, education and the public sector.
