Sarah O' Connell

As an experienced translator and editor, I have a deep understanding of the importance of creating coherent and natural sounding texts that convey the meaning of the author while capturing the attention of the final reader. I have had the opportunity to perfect my translation and editing skills by working with a variety of different text types, from technical and scientific texts, legal documents for the EU, and with educational material for university courses. This experience has given me a solid understanding of different translation and editing techniques and has helped me adapt my work to the needs of each of my clients.

I have nearly three years of professional experience translating, writing, editing, and proofreading documents for a variety of client and sector types, including: Education, Marketing, Technology, and EU Law. I am familiar with SDL Trados, Google Suite and Microsoft applications and bring determination, attention to detail and a can-do attitude to all my projects. I am interested in increasing my editing and writing experience and have recently taken on more projects in my current position that involve rewriting, proofreading and editing university courses and promotional marketing material.

In university, I graduated from my degree in Translation Studies with a First Class Honours and a C1 in both the French and German language. This degree taught me translation theory, textual studies, English writing skills as well as French and German language skills.
