Nicolas Blanchet

I am currently working for six months as an apprentice for RTE (Réseau de Transport d’Electricité) in charge of the transmission grid in France. I am really interested in my work and I would like to find an internship related to this field. I am mainly working on electrotechnics studies such as potential rising infrastructures, grounding network infrastructures, electromagnetic fields, equipment settings and electrical fault detection.

I also write quotations for different solutions explained in studies.

I own a two-year Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing (Université de Bordeaux). I am currently completing an Electrical Engineering Master at Polytech Engineering School (Nantes). This diploma is specialized in electrical systems’ control, from regulation, automation to electric grids.

Concerning the computing part, I know mainly C and Python languages due to different projects (robots, water rocket, electric longboard). I appreciate working on simulation software such as Matlab. I am also deeply interested in smart grids, and regulation of electric systems.

I did various jobs before to find a sector that really interest me. I have been a waiter, a handyman and a receptionist.

Concerning the electric sector, i discovered it thanks to a job as a labourer in Australia where I was sometimes assisting electricians.

After my two-year technical diploma, I did an internship at Eiffage Energies Systèmes where I was designing low-voltage plans on AutoCad. I was also cabling public lighting.

Now I am working for RTE as an apprentice. I am in charge of different High Voltage studies as potential rising infrastructures, grounding network infrastructures, electromagnetic fields, equipment settings and electrical fault detection. I also write quotations for different solutions.

My current formation is the best formation I had. I am currently completing a Master's Degree in Electrical System's Control, Automation and High Voltage Studies at Polytech Nantes. This formation is specialized in sectors that really passionate me like regulation, motor control or electric grids.

Furthemore I have the opportunity to be an apprentice at RTE, which is the company in charge of the transmission grid in France. The apprenticeship is the perfect combination between scholar knowledge and work experience.
