Team leader at Survitec (2021-07 – 2024-09)
My time at Survitec started in the NHS PPE Cell in Birkenhead before transferring to the PFE Section in Ellesmere Port. During my time working on the PPE contract, I was responsible for checking the NHS surgical gowns at various stages of production and the finished products to ensure all products met the required specification prior to delivery to the customer. I am responsible for an additional 10 Personnel, who report direct to me and between us we are responsible for checking work of around 150 production operatives.
My aim is to make sure our products go to the customer with zero faults and on time, whilst using my excellent knowledge and understanding of technical drawings. My role includes monitoring performances, performance management, setting targets, mentoring and coaching, providing workloads, holidays and absences, amongst other things. This is a multi-faceted role involving a range of skills; collaborative working, planning & scheduling, effective decision making to ensure orders are delivered to spec and on time and supporting the production team by communicating clearly.

In my time at Survitec, I have enjoyed working within the ethos of the company and have already expanded my knowledge and skills to include training in Q Pulse which enables me to extract the latest documentation relating to product specification, production processes and quality guidelines which has enabled me to build upon my existing knowledge and streamline my work methodology with positive outcomes.
Professional Golf Caddie at LPGA Tour (2020-05 – 2021-06)
Working as a caddie has enabled me to utilise my communication skills to build an effective player/caddie partnership. Successfully collaborating with my golfer allowed me to assist in advising of the best strategy to successfully manage the course. I succeeded at this by thoroughly researching every course prior to the competition, combined with my extensive knowledge of the game, from shot playability to course management.
My calm and professional approach assisted in keeping my player steady and positive throughout the day. During this time I would pass on knowledge about strategising and planning on to beginner caddies and even Tour rookies in order for them to get the best out of themselves. I still help out now from time to time with amateur golfers and go through the mental side of the game so that they can transition to become a touring professional.

My daily jobs included monitoring KPIs, checking the quality of the products manufactured on site and outsourced, signing off on orders for our customers, managing a small team of production workers to ensure the work was produced efficiently and to the required quality specification before leaving the factory.
I ended my time there overseeing a team of 4-16 people. I was accountable for multiple orders at any one time. I was responsible for efficiently planning the workload, continuously improving our work time and finding areas where we could improve our methods in line with ISO9001 principles, thus saving time and costs and producing greater margins of profit for the business.
I worked collaboratively combined with the Production Manager and alongside Team Leaders and Quality Control ensuring a smooth process was achieved whilst barriers to achieving our outcomes were escalated as appropriate. Together with the Production Team Leader, I was expected to co-manage the team of circa 10 people on average to ensure work was distributed and explained in a clear manner, ensuring I was available to problem solve should issues arise to ensure the end production target was achieved. Any absences within the team were my responsibility to deal with and reallocate work accordingly.
