About

I am a final year student working towards my International Business BA(Hons) Degree at Nottingham Trent University. My studies have provided me with a strong foundation in business and my previous studies in fashion and media have also contributed to my Profound understanding in marketing and creative direction.

I recently finished my year of study abroad in Nice, France. I studied Business administration at IPAG Business School starting September 2021 - May 2022. Throughout my studies in Nice, I focused my studies on International HR management, Strategic marketing, Financial Management, Advertising & Promotion and finally CSR & Ethics. This experience piqued my interest in learning about new cultures, places, people travelling and living abroad.

Skills I gained from this mazing experience was: Resilience, more confidence to be independent, strong ability to work in unfavourable environments, strong ability to work in a diverse team, cultural understanding and finally a stronger understanding of the French language.

I stayed in Nice until August 2022 when I had to return back to my home university. This was hard for me as I fell in love with the city. I frequently visit back when I can and I've decided after finishing my final year of university in May 2023, I plan to return to Nice, France. I'd like to gain experience in areas such as marketing, management, HR, Teaching or customer service. I am also open to working in a different city in France if it means gaining experience.

While in the UK, I continue to work my part time customer service role at Moto Hospitality and I am continuing to study French. I have also completed a course in Basic first aid and I was awarded with a certificate of completion for this.

Furthermore, in 2017 I Volunteered in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks. During this time I taught English to underprivileged children at a school in Ambalangoda. This included; Spelling, differentiation of tenses, basic English skills and identifying objects in English.

I created fun and easy games to engage the children and to make the learning viable. Furthermore, we used break times to engage in sporting fun such as cricket, where we let the children teach us for a change. This experience piqued my interest in teaching English in different countries because it was a privilege to educate these children no matter their background.

During this time we also help renovate the school in order to create a more positive environment for the children to learn in. This gave me an insight into working with an international organisation in aid of others.

Moto Hospitality - April 2017 - Present. (5+ years)

Multi worker in: WHSmiths Retail, The Bar & Grill & Costa Coffee.

Adequate knowledge of working in a bar, carrying out tasks such as making drinks, cash handling & delivering 11/10 experience whilst upholding company standards in a versatile environment.
Good Cultural awareness & communication due to dealing with customers from all over Europe and the UK.
Utilise immaculate listening, speaking & confidence skills from dealing with company ordering, deliveries and clients.
Suggesting new ideas for managers/ company to implement to boost profits &manage stock loss. Also, giving my creative input for charity events/ work initiatives.
Strong ability to work under pressure and to a time scale due to working in a changing& fast pace environment.
Experience in a duty manager role ensuring all issues are resolved either in person, email or phone. Also, ensuring site checks are correctly carried out.

Created social media content of current projects, listing details and information.
Created relevant content to entice customers and engage current and new audiences.

How to utilise social media and create content to entice new customer segments and understand new markets and demands.

Nottingham Trent University Carbon Conference- 25th January 2023.

Here I partnered with clients from Paragon Law firm to implement sustainable practices within the workplace.
4 months prior to the conference I took the time to visit the law firm and collect relevant data and resources such as the total carbon emissions for 2021-2022 and the usage of electricity, gas and paper. With this research I produced recommendations for a more sustainable workplace and presented this to the clients in a professional poster I created.
