Adam Kelly

I am currently a final year student at the University of Leeds in the UK, studying Business and Spanish

I spent the last year in Madrid at a university, and am looking for internships in Madrid so that I can build on my C1 level of Spanish in a business environment, and develop my career.

I enjoy working in teams, but I am also keen to lead teams in projects.

I have experience in hospitality, so my communication skills are really good, and my degree has provided me with wide knowledge on the business world.

2022 - present EL GATO NEGRO TAPAS, Leeds, UK

Traditional Spanish tapas restaurant, specialising in wine and cocktails, with 210 covers and other restaurants in Manchester and Liverpool

• Currently operating as a bartender, often solo. Duties include hosting and food service as required. Developed my knowledge of Spanish cuisine, wines and cocktails.

• Employed as a member of the bar staff taking payments, processing and fulfilling orders, whilst being available to assist the floor staff wherever required.

2020 MORRISONS, Bath, UK

Customer Assistant (3 months) 

• Provided direct customer service and support to the supermarket’s clients throughout the pandemic, working on the shop floor, checkout and in the warehouse. 

2018 NEIGHBOURLY, Bristol, UK An award-winning giving platform that helps businesses make a positive impact in their communities by donating volunteer time, money and surplus products

Marketing Intern (2 weeks) 

• Involved in promoting and signing up 120 charities to the “Marks & Spencer Make Every Moment Special” campaign, which was primarily achieved through cold calling. 
• Conducted market research for a Lidl campaign to submit surplus food donations to locally connected charities. This involved calling over 40 Lidl stores per day. This enabled the supermarkets to make minimise their food waste, and donate it to good causes.
• Captured and collated all financial/data aspects of the campaign to present to my supervisor, so they could identify where to focus their efforts.
