My name is Adewale Joshua Adeyemo , a Nigerian. I am a master student at the University of Sunderland, Studying Business management and marketing Management September 2022 intake.
I have worked in a hospital setting back home in Nigeria over the years, which have been able to implore the experience in taking care of my aunty diagnosed with a sickle cell Anemia.
I am an experienced Healthcare Support Worker with more than 2years working experience in Support Living, Nursing and residential care homes.
I am presently working as a support worker with an agency. During my months of experience, I have worked with several Health setting, supporting health professionals, working with individuals with complex and special needs, Learning difficulties and disabilities, Challenging behavior, Dementia and Mental health matters.
I am a team player, understanding, compassionate and have empathy. I enjoy helping service users with their daily needs and activities by creating an activity planner for them. And I also help in food shopping, Housekeeping, Laundry, going out for a walk, and engaging in activities in the community to help promote their independence.
I am an excellent communicator, that communicates effectively with service users, staff, families and external agencies or organizations and handles telephone conversation in a respectful and polite manner.
I am good in using verbal and non-verbal skills such as using pictures, gestures, eye contact, visual schedule, timer and traffic light system to overcome communication Barriers presented by Service users due to their mental health or learning disabilities needs.
I am a flexible person, in order to meet the needs of service users. I can remain patient, calm, and resilience in stressful situations and display understanding and empathy. Assisting in person centered care assigned to me while on shift which involves personal care, infection, prevention and control, health and safety, personal hygiene, safeguarding, food preparation, medication, reassurance, comfort and safety, promoting positive mental, physical and nutritional health with service users.
I am a fast learner, team player, Excellent problem solver that welcomes new tasks and challenges. I also possess the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
I am ready to do all the relevant training assigned and the NVQ 111, also working on my MVQ3 if given the opportunity to work for the trust.
