Work Experience Placement at Amazon World Zoo Park (2026-05 – 2026-05)

During my work experience placement, I assisted the keepers with their daily husbandry routines.

• Animal feed preparation
• Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures and surrounding areas
• Preparation of animal enrichment
• Cleaning and maintaining animal kitchens and storage areas
• Assisting with Wallaby Walkabout immersive enclosure
• Feeding and observing a sloth

Work Experience Placement at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary (2025-07 – 2025-07)

I completed a two week work experience placement at the animal sanctuary on the Isle of Wight. My duties included shadowing and assisting the animal care staff on all aspects of daily animal husbandry.

• Cleaning of housing/enclosures
• Preparing animal feed and enrichment
• Feeding animals
• Habitat maintenance
• Animal sections covered: farm, lemurs, monkey and cat including tigers, lions, lynx and serval

Work Experience Placement at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital (2025-04 – 2025-04)

I completed a 2 week work placement at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital as part of my Level 1 course requirement. Whilst I was there, I completed general animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning, moving and mucking out some of the sick and injured animals that were at the hospital.

• Worked in: small mammals, new admissions and the animal kitchen

Training Course with Work Experience at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo Academy (2023-02 – 2023-03)

I completed the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo Academy training course with work experience during this time. I completed more than 5 hours of theory sessions and completed more than 15 hours of practical animal care as part of the course.
