From a background in education and administration, I have just completed my PGCE with QTS. I relished the challenge of studying full time and working while completing my BA sociology degree at the university as I am a highly self-motivated and organised individual. After my degree I took some time to travel this experience allowed me to gain valuable life experience, and new knowledge of the world, people and cultures. While travelling I worked as a pet sitter looking after people pets when they were away this experience grew my love for working with animals. I spent a prolonged period of time working with abandoned dogs in Thailand. Growing up both of my parents are horticulturists and this passion and knowledge is something that I have continued to pursue in my personal life.

My degree has been a life-changing experience allowing me to explore a wide range of academic interests. Through my dissertation, I have gained an interest in data and social statistics by conducting my own social research project. I was also the secretary of Pet Society, which involved helping out at a local animal rescue centre as well as managing all society correspondence – usually email – to liaise with members, committee and sponsors.
