As Transformation lead I oversee and provide direct line management to a diverse team, as well as manage the research portfolio. I provide regulatory and governance management to data driven projects in the field of imaging and AI.
I completed my degree in Nuclear Medicine (BSc (Hons)) at the ESS Porto in Portugal, followed by a PgDip and MRes at City University of London and I am currently undertaking a PhD at Erasmus MC.
My research work was previously focused on patients’ awareness and perception of radiation exposure during bone and PET/CT scanning. This led to a number of articles and presentations at International conferences. I have also contributed to other imaging research studies in the fields of Nuclear Medicine and Radiology.
My current research is looking at understanding patients and healthcare professionals’ views on independent patient access to their imaging records – how access to a digital platform could better support and engage patients to become active users of digital health services – in line with changes to current patient record systems across the UK and Internationally.
In my current role, together with two directors, I manage a diverse team and skill mix as well as the research portfolio (Imaging and AI clinical research). I work with external and internal stakeholders, academic and commercial collaborators to deliver our imaging research, establish links with relevant support teams within the NHS and externally and capitalise on our excellent staff to deliver innovative artificial intelligence projects in Imaging. I oversee a clinical trials team who deliver multi-centre studies, imaging led studies and a range of service evaluations in the Trust.
My role is also to provide regulatory and governance management to our data driven projects, particularly in the field of data and artificial intelligence. I am responsible for the overall financial management of the department and associated projects and grants.
I have a have degree in Nuclear Medicine (BSc (Hons)) - the ESS Porto in Portugal, followed by a PgDip and have formalised my research experience through a Masters in Clinical Research (MRes) at City University of London. I am currently a second year PhD student at Erasmus MC, looking at understanding patients and healthcare professionals’ views on independent patient access to their imaging records – how access to a digital platform could better support and engage patients to become active users of digital health services.
Currently undertaking a formal qualitative course module and project management - PRINCE 2 Agile.
