I recently completed six years in a global advertising technology enterprise as its COO and CPO. The company was created and co-owned by ten of the world’s biggest media brands and rights holders and their co-shareholders (who were a portfolio of private equity companies and UHNWIs). The company scaled rapidly from 2016 to 2019 and was ultimately sold in 2020, with a seed EV of £15m and an exit value of £75m.
I was the Executive Project Manager for the end-to-end sell-side of the deal, including owning the cap table, the data room, all people communications, Board and shareholder inter-play for queries and voting and developing the new Shareholder Agreement and Articles with both the buy and sell side corporate counsel.
Further, across the company’s first four years, I led other project management-related matters, including:
- Project management of an inbound Singapore-based acquisition from News International and its entities across Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia.
- Project management for the Platform Engineering team’s transition from its in-house model to an outsourced provider based in Dublin (2019).
- Project management for onboarding all new shareholders and their representatives, with those capital providers’ teams being based off-shore, e.g., Monaco, BVI, etc., or in geos such as Singapore, North America and Ireland.
Before my most recent role, I held the following senior global HR positions, inclusive of responsibility for the execution of change-related, enterprise growth and transformation projects:
- Six years working for a New York-based private equity firm which owned global insurance and investment businesses worldwide. I was responsible for establishing and leading its International HR team, being centrally involved in the build, buy and sell activities related to their rapid global expansion.
- One year as an interim and non-executive advisor to the Board directors of a FinTech SME, supporting them on governance-related project matters as a pre-cursor to their authorisation by the FCA; and
- Seven years with a UK FTSE-listed international financial services/reinsurance firm as a Group HR Strategy Partner.
