Andrew Fenn

I am an internal audit, governance risk and compliance monitoring expert with experience of all 3 lines of defence across multiple sectors (financial services, oil and gas, education) and international jurisdictions (UK, Europe, Middle East, US and Africa). I have most recently held the SMF5 Head of Internal Audit SMCR registration at both Birmingham and Turkish Banks. Iam immediately available.

My career to date has primarily been focused on the management and mitigation of different types of risk activities within the financial services, insurance, logistics and oil and gas sectors of the economy; roles undertaken have been multinational in nature and have included senior executive roles including head of Internal Audit (SMF5 for Birmingham and Turkish Banks) reporting into the Board Audit Committees, head of risk (Creation Financial Services Ltd) and also include experience obtained in working in all three lines of defence including internal audit, operational risk, governance, compliance monitoring, SOX, and credit risk management. I have had extensive exposure to differing risk categories including control and governance, systems and technology, compliance, operational, project, model, conduct, fraud (KYC/AML), financial, IT, reputational and credit risk activities.

In addition, I have operational experience of granting commercial, international and personal credit facilities, on both secured (mortgages, letters of credit, guarantees etc.) and on an unsecured basis as well as managing a collections team. I am immediately available and keen to identify a new opportunity to further develop these skills and provide an enhanced risk and control environment to a new organisation.

I qualified back in 1986 as an associate of the chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) and in 1991 obtained a diploma in TEFL
