Within this position I was able to lead teams of staff in different aspects of the hotel while having hands on experience of what it takes to be a manager by moving from each department every few months including restaurant, bar, reception and other front of house facing roles. This enabled me to see the different sides and roles in order to have both a restaurant and hotel function efficiently. From supervising large parties in both the main dining room and between both the function suite and small Turner Room where smaller functions take place.
The main idea behind my role was for me to be able to lead and supervise a team of staff members and delegate tasks accordingly in order for the particular area to run as smooth as possible.

In this position, I first worked as part of the function team in which I served food and drinks for functions such as weddings, parties, Christmas/New Year events and Balls. I then moved on to work in the 3 AA Rosette hotel restaurant serving food to guests throughout several different dining areas. I have gained skills such as wine knowledge, silver service and other extensive training was given in order for me to give the highest standard of customer service expected in a fine dining restaurant.
I have also been put in charge of private functions for up to 40 people.

As part of my work experience during school I chose this position before many others due to my interest in the Scottish Government. In this position, I was able to try all types of work involved e.g. Administration (Included Filing etc.), I.T. work (Spreadsheets etc.) numeracy and communication skills. I successfully completed training in all operations and systems for the Glasgow House Team.
