I have been an OT for 6 years and have developed a broad experience in physical and mental health, working in inpatient and community settings within the NHS and third sector. I particularly enjoy working with complex cases and have demonstrated considerable success in enabling people who have previously felt let down by numerous services due to their complex physical and/or mental health conditions and social difficulties. Latterly I have been working for an Armed Forces veterans charity as a mental health practitioner, where I also demonstrated the immense value that occupational therapy can bring to develop life skills and greatly increase independence in cases where service users had previously been deemed ‘unfixable’.
Previously, I served for 24 years as a Royal Navy Officer during which I developed excellent leadership and management skills and demonstrated creativity in managing complex problems whilst under pressure.
I have experience working in adult inpatient and community mental health, as well as working in community hospital rehabilitation services.
