I am an MA journalism student at Edinburgh Napier University, with a background working in local news production, news writing to more recently, working as a freelance video journalist, and have been commissioned to cover politics in Scotland more recently.
I have gained work experience in the Scottish Parliament as communications assistant in the office of Miles Briggs MSP (part-time).
I am an advocate for accessibility, and strive to create stories which can have a far-reaching impact on audiences. Having volunteered with the Talking News Federation, and incorporating narration into some of my writing pieces, I have an interest in broadcasting and news which can also be accessible for those who are visually impaired or print disabled.
Freelance reporter for Edinburgh Reporter: Gained experience in reporting on local news and events in Edinburgh. Worked as a video journalist covering Pride events for Pink News / Vox-pop interviews and 1+1.
Hosted an hour-long news radio show broadcast live: Gained experience in hosting a live news show.
Provided communications assistance to Scottish Parliament, drafting press releases and letters to council members.
Building website ‘Louder on Set!’: sharing news and features impacting people with disabilities and the neurodivergent community in the media, TV, and film industry.
