Ava Corless

I am a motivated and enthusiastic Public Services student at Bury College, looking for an opportunity to gain practical experience, broaden my skillset and thrive in a team environment. Through captaining my football team, I have developed strong communication, teamwork, leadership and time-management skills, as well as the ability to motivate others and demonstrate resilience. In the 2024/25 season, I helped lead my team to win our league while maintaining a positive attitude and acting as a role model to my teammates.

Outside of college, I enjoy fishing and hiking, both of which have strengthened my patience, perseverance and problem-solving skills. I have completed two of the Three Peaks and have set myself the personal challenge of completing all three within the next year. I am really keen to learn, take on new challenges and looking to gain valuable experience in a professional environment.

• Serving and taking orders correctly, while maintaining excellent levels of customer service
• During peak hours, managing the floor to ensure that orders were delivered to customers, and that tables were cleared to keep the turnaround running efficiently while maintaining strict hygiene standards

Newspaper delivery at Prestwich Convenience Store

Completed a paper round before school hours, which helped to develop my time management skills

• Ensured that correct newspapers were delivered to correct addresses, and did not receive any complaints during my time in this role
